At spring showcase we will be combining this learning with our STEM lab learning! Studnets designed "penguine homes" to insulate penguines whose habitats are getting too hot! We will put our penguine homes to the test by putting penguine shapes icecubes into the shelters and places those shelters under heat lamps. While you conduct this experiment with your child you will have a chance to preview their social studies book creator project or play math games with your child! You will ONLY visit your homeroom classroom and can plan for about 15-20 minutes spent there. The remaning time you can attend the art show! 2024-25 Class Placement Considerations This May we will begin to hold our placement meetings to create classes for the next school year. We value your input as parents and want to consider the whole child when creating classes. If you want to provide feedback on the type of classroom environment you feel your child would do best in, feel free to fill out this optional survey from Mrs. Zarzour. She will be taking feedback until May 10th that she will consider as a part of our school process. This feedback is private and only necessary information is shared with us as teachers. https://forms.office.com/r/qLsXUL6CDX iReady Diagnostics On April 15 and 16 will begin to take our end of the year iReady Diagnostic assessments in Reading and on April 22 and 23 in Math. These tests are nationally normed and will provide us with a snapshot of all they have learned this school year! Unlike GA Milestones, it is not limited to just the grade level standards and is a K-8 adaptive assessment. This allows us to see the full depth of a student's understanding. This assessment is one of the things Mrs. Zarzour considers when looking at what advanced courses or supports a student may need next fall. Please encourage your child to do their very best on this assessment as it is an important end of the year assessment to show all of their growth. https://forms.office.com/r/qLsXUL6CDX READING This week we took our diagnostic and read some realistic fiction.
