3.13 Brain Building for third grade 3.14 Enhanced Math Test 3.15 Third Grade Field trip to Cinderella Ballet 3.20 Boosterthon kickoff 3.22 Spring Family Event 3.21 and 3.22 Unit 5 Reading Test 3.29 Boosterthon Fun Run & Panther Pantry READING This week we continued to read and compare various fairy tales! We looked at what is same and different with the setting, characters, and plot. Next week we will not cover any new reading skills as we have a busy,short week with brain building, a chior perforamnce we will be watching, and our field trip! Continuing to read 15 minutes each night at home is an important routine to try and impliment at home. PHONICS Next week we we will catch up and review on phonics skills. GRAMMAR Next week we will catch up and review on grammar skills. SOCIAL STUDIES AND SCIENCE This week we learned a lot about various common jobs in Colonial America. Ask your student which job they would be the least or most interested in having from that time period, and inquire why! WRITING This week we stared our infromational essay on how two types of desert animals adapt to their enviroment. We are practicing paying close attention to the prompt, utlizing the writers checklist, and finding text evidence as we make our plans. We will continue this work next week. Math: Enhanced (on level)- This week we focused on various fraction skills to reinforce all the skills we have learned in this unit. Study guides came home this week for our test that will be on Thursday March 14th. Accelerated- This week we began using a protractor to measure and create angles. Study guides came home later in the week so studnets can start working on it before their test that will also be on Thrusday March 14th. STUDENT SUCESS SKILLS (social/emotional) Next week we will learn about wants and needs. REPEAT: WELNESS REMINDER Students who have flu-like symptoms, and who are ill, have a fever of 100.4°F or greater, chronic diarrhea or vomiting and/or may have a contagious illness (potential or actual) MUST NOT be sent to school and will not be permitted to remain in school. To return to school, a student should be well (have improved symptoms) and they must be free of fever for more than 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications ENFERMEDAD / LESIÓN DEL ESTUDIANTE Continuaremos tomando precauciones adicionales para mantener seguros a los estudiantes y al personal. The GA Department of Education has created study guides that you can use as a resource for home. The ELA study guide is attached as a paper version, but they have transitioned the math study guides and 5th grade science to their online platform.
